Iridology

What is iridology?

Iridology is the examination and analysis of the iris—the colored part of the eye—in order to identify factors that may be important for your emotional and physical health.

Your irises are genetically determined and unique to each individual. Around 200 different signs can be observed in the iris. These include colors, fibers and lines, pigments, and openings. The unique distribution of these features can be used for biometrics and offers up to ten times more reliability than fingerprints.

The iris should be considered like a map, with each area corresponding to different organ systems in the body. You are born with a set of characteristic signs that generally remain stable over time, although some of them, such as pigmentation, may gradually change.

The iris reflects genetic predispositions and tendencies, highlighting both the body’s strengths and vulnerabilities. These can then be given attention and support within a holistic approach to care.

Iridology takes a holistic view of health, providing insight into both our physical and emotional makeup and promoting overall well-being.

Contrary to popular belief, iridology is not a medical diagnostic tool and is not based on scientific evidence. It developed through observation and practical experience by European naturopaths in the 19th and 20th centuries, long before laboratory tests were widely available. Rather than indicating what is “abnormal,” iridology highlights areas that deserve attention.

It can be especially useful when conventional medicine does not provide clear answers. In my consultations, iridology allows me to identify key organ systems and physiological patterns, giving me a deeper understanding to support and maintain your health at its optimal level.

In summary, the goal of an iridology session is to provide, through the observation of your irises, practical insights into your strengths and weaknesses, offering informed guidance based on three key areas: lifestyle, nutrition, and plants.

Iridology Consultation: What Happens During a Session?

First, we will need high-resolution images of your irises. I use a light source and a phone camera with a professional magnifying lens to capture them. For an online consultation, you can either take the photos yourself in front of a mirror (I can provide an instructional video) or have someone else take the photos and send them to me.

Next, I will ask a series of questions about your personal medical history, current concerns, lifestyle, diet, and overall goals. This helps to contextualize what I observe in your irises. I will then assess the features of your irises and explain how they reflect your constitutional strengths. Based on this, I will suggest targeted lifestyle adjustments, nutritional strategies, herbal support, and other interventions aimed at optimizing your health and vitality.

Consultation Duration: 1 to 1.5 hours.

Location: In Orbe or via online video consultation (high-resolution photos must be sent beforehand).

Price: Flexible / Pay what you wish.
